Danielle Udogaranya, a video game character artist, identified a pattern in which the hairstyle worn by the Black Panther villain Killmonger appears repeatedly across video games as a default option for Black characters. Udogaranya attributed this repetition to technical ease in coding rather than artistic intent. She has begun developing alternative hairstyle options for video game character creation systems.
