India Cumulative Monsoon Rainfall 15% Below Normal as of Sept. 9

India received 648 millimeters of rainfall during the June-September monsoon season as of September 9, according to the India Meteorological Department. The average rainfall for the period is 760.6 millimeters. The shortfall amounts to 112.6 millimeters, or approximately 15 percent below the seasonal average.
