Mark Jacobson, a historian at the International Spy Museum and retired US Navy Intelligence Officer, was in the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, near the point of impact. Jacobson told Bloomberg that counterterrorism capabilities have evolved over 25 years and that the country is more secure than it was in 2001, though he expressed concern about how allies are being valued.
