China Oil Demand to Shrink This Year, Sinopec Research Arm Says

China's oil demand is projected to decline by 600,000 barrels per day in 2026, according to Sinopec Group's research arm. The forecast attributes the decrease to the US-Iran war and expanding electric vehicle adoption. Sinopec is China's largest state-owned oil refiner.
