Amazon cargo plane appeared to consider aborting landing before Miami crash, investigators say
Wednesday, September 9, 2026
A cargo plane operated by Amazon's air freight service showed data consistent with an aborted landing approach before crashing near Miami, according to investigators examining the aircraft's flight systems. A "go-around" maneuver occurs when a pilot decides not to complete a landing and returns the aircraft to the air for another approach attempt. The National Transportation Safety Board and other authorities have not yet released conclusions about why the crew made this decision or what caused the subsequent crash.
