Sony isn’t phasing out discs quite as quickly as we thought

Sony confirmed it is discontinuing video game discs but stated production will continue longer than previously reported. The company's discmaking division clarified that reports about its last disc production facility being repurposed were inaccurate. Sony has not announced a specific timeline for when disc production will end.
