“This is the AI men actually use”: Meta ads pushed apps nudifying real teens
Tuesday, September 8, 2026
Meta displayed ads for apps that generate nude images from photographs on its platforms, according to reporting by the nonprofit organization Tech Transparency Project in December 2024. The advertisements promoted deepfake nude-generation technology to users, including minors. Meta removed the ads after being contacted by journalists, a company spokesperson said. The social media platform has faced multiple investigations regarding child safety and its enforcement of policies against exploitative content.
