Fourteen go on trial over deadliest Channel small boats disaster

Fourteen individuals went on trial in connection with a boat capsizing in the English Channel on November 24, 2021, in which at least 30 people died. The vessel sank while carrying migrants attempting to cross from France to the United Kingdom. The prosecution alleges the defendants were involved in organizing or facilitating the crossing.
