Paxton Aide Turned Whistle-Blower Appears in Ad Endorsing His Rival, Talarico

David Maxwell, a former staffer in the Texas attorney general's office who accused Ken Paxton of abusing his official authority, appeared in a campaign advertisement for a rival candidate. Maxwell had been among multiple staffers who made accusations against Paxton that resulted in his impeachment in 2023; Paxton was acquitted by the Texas Senate in 2025.
