Afghan Deportations Fuel Humanitarian Strain

Millions of Afghans have returned from Pakistan and Iran in recent years, including many who had never lived in Afghanistan, as both countries increased deportations. BBC Chief International Correspondent Lyse Doucet told Bloomberg that women and girls face restrictions under Taliban governance that bar them from secondary and university education and many jobs. The deportations have involved individuals with varying lengths of prior residence in Afghanistan.
