Judge allows 'homewrecker' lawsuit against former Sen Kyrsten Sinema to move forward
Saturday, September 5, 2026
A North Carolina judge ruled that former U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema can be sued under the state's alienation of affection law, finding that her messages establish sufficient jurisdiction for the case to proceed. The plaintiff alleges Sinema interfered in a marriage. Alienation of affection laws, which exist in several U.S. states, allow one spouse to sue a third party for damaging a marriage. The case will continue in North Carolina state court.
