The Los Angeles Rams signed Aaron Donald to a $20 million deal using contract structures that included void years and backloaded payments to create salary cap space. Donald had announced his retirement in March 2024 before returning to the team. The contract arrangement allowed the Rams to also retain defensive end Myles Garrett on their roster while managing their overall cap obligations.
