Pentagon Agreement With N.I.H. on Biodefense Draws Alarm From Democrats

The Defense Department and National Institutes of Health entered a new partnership agreement on biodefense and pandemic preparedness under which the Pentagon would expand its role in these efforts. Democratic lawmakers said the arrangement could result in the Pentagon redirecting funds or resources away from civilian health agencies.
