China Commander for Taiwan Ops Met US Counterpart for First Time

Chinese Gen. Liu Zhenli, commander of China's Eastern Theater Command covering Taiwan, met with Admiral Samuel Paparo, commander of US Indo-Pacific Command, in their first in-person meeting. The meeting occurred as the US and China maintain military operations in waters near Taiwan. Paparo oversees American military forces across the Indo-Pacific region, which includes Taiwan and the surrounding area.
