Maniatis: Hormuz Escalation Risk Has Eased
Friday, September 4, 2026
Dimitris Maniatis, CEO of Marisks, said a recent intelligence assessment indicated reduced expectations of near-term escalation in the Strait of Hormuz, following earlier analysis that had pointed to heightened risk. According to Maniatis, 25 ships transited the southern corridor under U.S. military guidance on the previous day, and vessel movements were continuing. Maniatis also noted that shipowners were returning to the route due to attractive earnings, while crews were willing to transit with bonuses, security support, and risk assessments in place.
