Michigan Democrat who lost Senate primary to Abdul El-Sayed takes aim at Bernie Sanders over Israel stance

Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens said Bernie Sanders is part of an anti-Zionist movement and questioned his contributions to Middle East peace efforts, according to an interview. Stevens lost a Michigan Senate primary to Abdul El-Sayed in 2024. Sanders, an independent U.S. Senator from Vermont, has opposed Israeli military actions in Gaza and called for conditions on U.S. military aid to Israel.
