Biden-Appointed Judge Blocks Trump from Narrowing Birthright Citizenship

A federal judge issued a ruling blocking President Donald Trump's executive order that would have narrowed birthright citizenship eligibility. The order would have excluded children born in the United States to foreign nationals classified as enemies of the country, members of foreign terrorist organizations, or foreign government lobbyists. The judge, appointed by former President Joe Biden, found the order conflicted with existing constitutional or statutory law. Trump had signed the order in January 2025.
