Trump’s 100% tariff on drones will be disaster for the US, critics warn

The Trump administration imposed tariffs on imported drones effective January 15, 2026. Drone manufacturers and importers reported price increases ranging from 40 to 60 percent within the first week of implementation. The U.S. drone market, which imported approximately 2.3 million units annually, faced supply constraints as several manufacturers paused new orders pending tariff clarification.
