This Buried Apple Feature Turns an iPhone Into the Perfect Kids’ Dumb Phone
Saturday, July 4, 2026
Apple offers a feature called Guided Access that locks an iPhone into a single app and restricts access to device functions. The feature was designed for users with cognitive disabilities but can be configured to limit a child's phone to specific applications. To enable Guided Access, users navigate to Settings, then Accessibility, then Guided Access, and toggle it on. Once activated, parents can set a passcode that prevents children from exiting the designated app or accessing other phone features like calling, texting, or the app store.
