SMU cancels CAIR-Texas youth conference over state’s ‘terrorist’ designation of organizer

Southern Methodist University canceled a youth leadership symposium scheduled to be hosted by CAIR-Texas after Texas Governor Greg Abbott designated CAIR as a foreign terrorist organization. The university did not publicly specify conditions under which the event could be rescheduled. CAIR-Texas is the Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a national Muslim advocacy organization.
