Putin Starts Russian Udokan Copper Cathode Plant After 2023 Fire

Russian President Vladimir Putin officially launched a copper cathode plant at the Udokan deposit on February 10, 2026. The facility had been rebuilt following a fire in 2023 that caused significant damage to the original structure. The Udokan deposit is one of the world's largest known copper reserves.
