India’s BSE Courts HFT Firms to Boost Closing Auction Liquidity

The Bombay Stock Exchange engaged with high-frequency trading firms and other market participants to address low trading volumes in its closing auction system. The exchange introduced the closing auction mechanism, which experienced thin liquidity and resulted in sharp price movements during day-end trading. BSE sought to increase participation to stabilize closing prices.
