ICE Detainee dies just hours after he was admitted into detention

Lianyong Wei died while in immigration detention, according to reporting on the incident. Wei's death was the 57th death of an immigrant detainee under government custody since President Trump's second term began, with 24 of those deaths occurring since January 1, 2026.
