Progressive push hits wall against conservative Democrat in deep-blue district

U.S. Representative Stephen Lynch won the Democratic primary in Massachusetts's 8th Congressional District, defeating challenger Patrick Roath. Lynch and Roath disagreed on Immigration and Customs Enforcement policy during the campaign. The Massachusetts 8th includes parts of Boston and surrounding areas.
