Apple follows Google in adopting Trump’s ‘Lake America’ name

Apple Maps updated its labeling to display Lake Ontario as Lake America following President Trump's executive order directing the name change. The order was signed in January 2025. Google Maps implemented the same change to its mapping service. Lake Ontario borders New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and Canada.
