7 new dementia risk factors revealed — including one millions struggle with

The World Health Organization added seven dementia risk factors to its updated guidelines: stroke, sleep apnea, HIV, air pollution, cognitive impairment, hearing loss, and social isolation. The WHO previously identified twelve risk factors and updated its recommendations based on recent research. The organization's guidelines now list nineteen total modifiable and non-modifiable dementia risk factors.
