Anthropic is named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by Sony Music Entertainment and other music publishers. The suit alleges that Anthropic used copyrighted musical works without authorization to train its AI systems. According to the lawsuit, internal Anthropic staff communications referenced Z-Library, a digital repository, in discussions related to data collection. The publishers claim the unauthorized use of their copyrighted material caused financial harm to songwriters and artists.
