Monday, August 31, 2026
PG&E shares fell after California legislators introduced a bill updating the state's wildfire response without shifting liability away from publicly traded utilities. BMO Capital Markets and Wells Fargo downgraded the stock. Chevron and ExxonMobil rose as oil prices increased following military exchanges between Washington and Tehran, with US Central Command targeting rocket launchers in the Strait of Hormuz and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reporting attacks on US air bases in Jordan.
