NASA's next "great observatory" begins mission to widen our view of the Universe

NASA's Roman Space Telescope began its mission to observe distant galaxies and exoplanets. The observatory can capture images with resolution equivalent to displaying data from over half a million 4K televisions for a single large survey image, according to NASA. Roman is designed to study dark energy, map the structure of the universe, and search for habitable exoplanets. The telescope launched as part of NASA's program to deploy multiple large space observatories for astronomical research.
