Mississippi mayor argues aginst lowering flag for Dolly Parton after her death

Olive Branch, Mississippi Mayor Ken Adams said the city should not lower its flag to half-staff following Dolly Parton's death, stating the honor should be reserved for other occasions. Adams did not specify which occasions he believed warranted the flag lowering. Parton died on December 6, 2024, at age 78.
