Sony Music and Warner Chappell are suing Anthropic

Sony Music and Warner Chappell filed a lawsuit against Anthropic in the US District Court for the Northern District of California alleging the company used copyrighted works without permission to train its AI models. The suit seeks up to $150,000 per work and an additional $25,000 per instance where copyright metadata was removed. The companies claim tens of thousands of copyrighted works were involved in the alleged infringement.
