Saturday, August 29, 2026
Sae Joon Park, a Purple Heart recipient and military veteran, received a pardon after his removal order was triggered by two convictions from over 15 years ago. Park had departed the United States voluntarily following the convictions. New York Governor Kathy Hochul said in a statement that Park "earned a second chance through rehabilitation." Park's case involved untreated post-traumatic stress disorder during the period of his convictions.
