The United States reestablished diplomatic relations with Venezuela following the removal of President Nicolás Maduro on January 3, 2026, and is now collaborating with interim President Delcy Rodríguez's government. Venezuela holds some of the world's largest proven oil reserves. The U.S. relationship with Venezuela's current government is conditional, according to statements by President Donald Trump.
