Friday, August 28, 2026
A federal judge ruled that portions of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's 2007 confession were involuntary. Mohammed is accused of planning the September 11, 2001 attacks. The ruling excludes those portions of the confession from admissible evidence in his trial. Mohammed has been detained at Guantanamo Bay since 2003 and his trial remains pending.
