Friday, August 28, 2026
Tohono O'odham tribal officials stated that armed and masked Customs and Border Protection agents escorted border wall construction contractors through the reservation on Tuesday. The tribe is opposing a 62-mile border infrastructure project planned within the Roosevelt Easement between the southern boundary of the reservation and the U.S.-Mexico border. Tribal officials characterized the escorted contractor movement as a violation of Tohono O'odham law.
