El Niño to Crimp Indonesian Palm Oil Output, Producer Group Says

The Indonesian Palm Oil Association estimated that palm oil production could decline by up to 3 million tons in the coming year due to forecasted El Niño weather conditions. The association attributed the potential decrease to the severe weather pattern expected in the coming months. Such a production decline would add upward pressure on global palm oil prices.
