Dolly Parton's beloved literacy mission sees surge of support after country icon's death

Alabama received over 550 commitments for a Dolly Parton Imagination Library license plate within 24 hours, compared to 40 commitments before the country music icon's death. The Imagination Library, founded by Parton in 1995, provides free books to children in participating communities across the United States and internationally. Alabama's Department of Revenue proposed the license plate to support the literacy program.
