Bosnian Serb Warlord Ratko Mladic, Handed Life Sentence for Genocide, Dies in Prison Aged 84

Ratko Mladic, a Bosnian Serb military commander sentenced to life imprisonment for genocide and crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, died in prison at age 84. Mladic was convicted in 2017 for his role in the Srebrenica massacre and the siege of Sarajevo during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War. He had been imprisoned at a UN detention facility in The Hague since his 2011 arrest.
