Panic passes Trump tariff refunds back to the Playdate customers who paid them
Thursday, August 27, 2026
Panic, the video game company, announced it would refund tariffs to customers who purchased its Playdate handheld console. The company had previously passed tariff costs to buyers following increased U.S. import duties. A Panic spokesperson said the decision to absorb the tariff costs instead was made to prioritize customer satisfaction. The refunds applied to Playdate purchases made during the period when tariff charges were in effect.
