South Africa Set to Lift Sugar-Benchmark Price to Shield Growers

South Africa will raise the benchmark price used to calculate duties on sugar imports. The International Trade Administration Commission announced the decision following requests from domestic sugar producers. Associated British Foods' South African operation and other local growers have sought the increase to address competition from cheaper imported sugar.
