When the Law Kills Your Electric Car Dealership

Polestar will not be authorized to sell electric vehicles in the United States beginning in 2025 after the federal government denied its request for an exemption from regulations restricting Chinese technology in vehicles. Dealers who invested in Polestar franchises will be unable to sell the company's vehicles in the US market as a result of the denial. Polestar had sought the authorization to continue operations despite ownership ties that triggered the regulatory restriction.
