WATCH: El-Sayed praised ‘beautiful’ sense of community abroad while trashing US as 'White supremacy'

Abdul El-Sayed, former Michigan gubernatorial candidate, made comments on a podcast praising community life in Egypt and characterizing Americans as "deeply atomized." The remarks were among previously recorded statements in which El-Sayed criticized aspects of U.S. culture. El-Sayed has held positions including executive director of the Detroit Health Department and run for Michigan governor in 2018.
