Three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Za'Darius Smith stepped away last year after losing three family members

Za'Darius Smith, a three-time Pro Bowl defensive end, signed with the Atlanta Falcons for the 2025 season following the deaths of his mother, grandmother, and father. Smith did not play during the prior year. He attributed his absence from football to the family losses.
