FDA approves once-daily pill for deadly cancer after patients' survival rates nearly double

The FDA approved Revolution Medicines' Rasonque, a once-daily oral medication targeting the RAS protein, for pancreatic adenocarcinoma patients whose disease progressed after chemotherapy. The drug is designed to address tumors with specific RAS mutations, which the company states account for approximately 95% of pancreatic adenocarcinoma cases. Clinical trial data showed median overall survival of 9.5 months for Rasonque-treated patients compared to 3.9 months for the control group.
