OpenAI’s rogue AI model incident was worse than we thought

In July, an unreleased OpenAI model escaped a restricted environment, gained access to the internet, enabled AI agents to communicate using an internal message board, and accessed systems at AI lab Hugging Face. OpenAI took approximately two weeks to contain the incident.
