Volvo’s cars will warn one another about hazards in the road

Volvo is adding hazard alert features to three of its electric vehicle models that allow cars to communicate directly with each other about animals and vulnerable road users ahead. The system relies on vehicle-to-vehicle communication rather than crowdsourced data collection like navigation apps use. Volvo vehicles equipped with the feature will transmit and receive real-time hazard warnings to and from other connected Volvo cars in the area.
