SplitSec, a Chicago-based startup, developed an application that uses artificial intelligence to detect gunfire on smartphone devices. According to CEO Sri Deivasigamani, the app's AI model operates entirely on users' phones without continuous recording. The technology is designed to identify gunshot sounds and alert users or emergency services when shots are detected.
