EU Politicians Investigated Pegasus Spyware. Then It Ended Up on One of Their Phones

Citizen Lab, a research institute at the University of Toronto, identified Pegasus spyware on the phone of a European Parliament member who had been investigating the surveillance tool's use. Pegasus is commercial spyware developed by the Israeli firm NSO Group. The finding emerged as the Parliament member was part of a committee examining alleged misuse of the software across the EU. Citizen Lab did not name the affected Parliament member in its public findings.
