Libyan who was cleared after Lockerbie bombing trial dies aged 70

Al Amin Khalifah Fhimah, a Libyan citizen acquitted in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing trial, died at age 70 according to a Facebook post by Libyan Airlines. Fhimah was tried alongside Abdelbaset al-Megrahi for the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, which killed 270 people. He was acquitted in 2001. Libyan Airlines announced his death and extended condolences to his family.
