Helicopter rescue crew caught on camera saving 2 climbers trapped along popular California beach cliff

A California Highway Patrol helicopter crew rescued two climbers on January 15, 2026, who were stranded approximately 600 feet below a roadway at Hurricane Point near Big Sur. Video footage shows the helicopter hovering above the ravine while crew members lowered equipment to extract the climbers. Both individuals were brought to safety and no injuries were reported.
